Fitness Tips for Busy Entrepreneurs

Since starting my new job, I’ve been working to increase my exercise during the week. I’ve been wanting to get healthier for a long time, but I just haven’t been able to get myself to stick to a plan. I believe that being so busy has been a big part of my issue because I feel as though I never have time to get a workout in or I think about it so last minute that I don’t want to do it anymore. As an aspiring entrepreneur and 1099 worker that basically makes her own schedule, I’m working to establish some habits to help me improve my overall health and help me lose weight. Take a look at some of my top tips for staying healthy as an entrepreneur:

  • Create a routine.

Creating a routine can really help hold you accountable for working out that day. I have begun to plan my days out down to the hour and I must admit that being on a schedule has helped me stick to my goals much better.

  • Be ready to do a workout anywhere.

I have learned that it’s always better to stay ready than having to get ready. Because of my ever-changing schedule, I am always sure to keep a workout outfit in my trunk in case I have to bust out an impromptu workout somewhere. It also doesn’t hurt that I like to incorporate functional pieces in my daily outfits {read more about that here}!

  • Find your motivation.

Maybe your goal is to improve your health or you need to lose weight to fit that dress – whatever it is, you need to establish a goal for your fitness just as you set goals for your business or project.

  • Make sure you’re getting a good amount of sleep.

Sleep is so important for your body because it is truly its time to rest and rejuvenate. Sleep deficiency is not good for your body or your business, so make sure that you always put yourself and your health first.

  • Keep healthy snacks on you at all times.

As an entrepreneur, it’s safe to assume that you are always on the go. When you’re on the go, it’s super easy to drive through the nearest face food place and indulge in an unhealthy meal. Save yourself the extra calories and pack healthy snacks in your purse or briefcase to keep you going during those long days.

  • Water, h20, agua.

Water is your best friend. Drink it all the time. Put lemons in it, liquid flavor, fruit, vegetables, whatever you have to do to make it taste good to you. In the beginning, it will take time for your bladder to adjust but it’s more than worth it.

  • Don’t forget about your mental health.

Even though this is about your physical fitness, it is always important to think about the impact on your mental health as well. It is a proven fact that regular exercise can have a positive affect on the brain just as negative thoughts can have negative affects on the body overtime. Keep your body and mind in check at all times to ensure that you can live your best life for a long time.

BTW, I’m going to be doing a new series called “3 Healthy Habits” where I pick 3 healthy habits a month to follow religiously and talk to y’all all about them! & 1/3 of the habits is geared toward being more environmentally friendly ? Be sure to check out that series here.

Well there you have it folks, my super easy + basic fitness guide for entrepreneurs. I am in no way, shape or form a fitness expert or medical professional – these are just things that I’ve learned during my time as an entrepreneur. Let me know if you do any of these things + your top tips for staying fit as a busy entrepreneur ?
